Hug Me or Punch Me

Participatory Installation

March 2016

As one of the most iconic toys, a teddy bear can easily evoke private emotions or awakes an innocence side of a person. Having a 6.5-foot giant teddy bear alone in a relatively closed interior space, the audience notices that they were allowed to do whatever they want to the bear — hugging, punching, or anything else. The intention of this piece is to try to evoke the inner world of the audience in a public space, through their various interactions triggered by the bear.
